PROTOTYPE. This class of 30 locomotives was the final and most modern design of 0-6-0 tank loco built by the GER. Ten were fitted with condensing gear for working suburban passenger trains. Other members of the class worked throughout East Anglia and other parts of the LNER until 1961.
KIT. The body is mainly brass, all the chassis and some of the heavier body components are in nickel silver. This is a very detailed kit with a lot of small fittings, pipework, cab interior detail and a representation of slidebars between the frames. The instructions are very comprehensive with a written text describing the building step by step to complement the exploded drawings. |
