Southern  24 Ton  Brake Van
"LSWR New Van"

PROTOTYPE. The London and South Western Railway between 1915 and 1921 built 75 of these vans. They were known to the staff as New Vans, a description still being applied to them in the 1950’s! These vans could still be seen on main line goods trains until the 1950’s, whilst a few lasted on local services and branch lines until about 1962.

KIT. A well detailed kit of a very attractive prototype. The fit of all parts is very good. Because of the number of separate detail parts’ construction is not that quick, a very enjoyable weekend project. Straight brass wire and a pre-formed brass roof are included.
